Skype 2.0 for symbian released Updated with change log


The offical skype app for Nokia symbian smartphones has been updated to version 2.05(symbia^3) and 2.06(s60v5) no changelog is available.

The update comes after a security bug was found and mynokiablog reports a bug with proximity sensor.

Update:An offical post announcing the release is now available on the Skype blog and here are the main changes

  • Contact finder
You can now find out which of your friends in your phone's contact list are using Skype. In addition, you can show their phone numbers in your Skype contact list.


  • Send contacts
You can now share your contacts with other people on Skype.


  • Update Skype status automatically using your calendar
You can now set Skype to automatically change your online status to available/busy depending on your calendar status.

  • Make emergency calls via PSTN
In case you need to make emergency call and try to do it in Skype, it will now be routed through the PSTN. This feature works only on Symbian^3 devices.


  • Minor ui updates and bugfixes
