Nokia IM 2.5 chat app now available to s60v5 devices


Nokia IM allows you to chat with all your friends in google,yahoo and more.The new version 2.5 has increased device support and also added new services.

So i downloaded and installed the app on my Nokia 5230 which reqires a restart to complete the installation.After the restart you were presented with an elegant looking app.First it just shown me a blank screen and when i pressed the ok(tick) it checked for updates and presented me with services that i can use to connect to friends(Google Talk, Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo!  Messenger, MySpace IM and Ovi Chat) with MySpace IM a new addition.
The application is nicely optimised for touchscreens and using it for chatting was fun.The changelog with this update are
  • Chat home screen widget (only available for Nokia N97 and Nokia C6-00)
  • added a new community, MyspaceIM!
  • easily setup a new avatar for yourself; choose an existing image from the gallery or take a new picture!
  •  timestamps added to the messages
What i found odd was that i had to sign out to exit the app.Also facebook chat is missed and hope it will come in later versions.Overall nicely designed and great app to try.
